I had a conversation with a USMC Veteran that recently came home from Afghanistan. He said a few things that resonated with me. He said that in Afghanistan he saw a side of the world that was not like anything he had ever seen before. He said that it was a place where the people have no hope and are living in a state of constant fear and desperation. He said that he saw people living in abject poverty and in some cases, he said, they were living in conditions worse than what he had seen in other parts of the world. He said that the people were desperate for help, but there was no one to help them. He said that he felt helpless and frustrated because he wanted to do something to help, but he was unable to. He said that he had never felt so powerless and helpless before in his life. He said that he had seen and experienced so much in his time in Afghanistan, and it changed the way he views the world. He said that he now has a better understanding of the human condition and how people can be driven to desperate measures when they are faced with extreme poverty and oppression. He said that he wants to use his experiences to help people in similar situations and he is looking for ways to make a difference.
