A few weeks ago, I attended the 2017 Digital Transformation Summit in London. The event was a great opportunity to hear from and mingle with industry leaders and innovators.
We heard from speakers such as Microsoft’s CTO, Kevin Scott, who spoke about how AI and machine learning can help organisations become more agile, and how to use digital transformation to stay ahead of the competition.
We also heard from the CIO of Rolls Royce, who discussed how they are using digital transformation to drive their business forward. Here, we learned how they are leveraging digital transformation to improve customer service, reduce costs, and drive innovation.
Overall, the event was an eye-opening experience and I left with a better understanding of how digital transformation can help organisations stay competitive in today’s rapidly changing business landscape. Here are my key takeaways from the event.
1. Digital transformation is about more than technology
Digital transformation is often seen as purely a technology issue, but the reality is that it is about much more than just technology. It is about transforming the way an organisation operates and works, from top to bottom. It requires a shift in mindset, an understanding of the customer’s needs, and an ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions.
2. Every organisation is on a different journey
Each organisation needs to find its own path in terms of digital transformation. There is no one-size-fits-all approach – each organisation needs to identify its unique needs, goals, and opportunities and then tailor its approach accordingly.
3. Data is key
Data is the lifeblood of digital transformation. Companies need to be able to collect, analyse, and use data effectively in order to make informed decisions and drive innovation.
4. Collaboration is essential
Digital transformation is not something that can be done in isolation. It requires collaboration across all departments and business functions, as well as with external partners and customers.
5. Change is inevitable
Digital transformation is an ongoing process, and organisations need to be prepared to adapt and adjust their strategies as needed. Change is inevitable, and organisations need to be agile and responsive in order to succeed.
Overall, the Digital Transformation Summit was a great opportunity to learn from industry leaders and explore how digital transformation can help organisations stay competitive and innovative. I left the event with a better understanding of how digital transformation can help organisations stay ahead of the curve in the ever-changing world of business.
